Your request for access credentials may have been denied since the GISAID sharing mechanism provides that only individuals, i.e. natural persons, may receive a license for the use of data shared via GISAID. This is no different from a request for a drivers license to take part in public traffic, where such privilege is granted only to individuals, but never to institutions.
Your request was flagged by our system because you provided a group or team email address in your registration. Like a driver’s license, GISAID access credentials are only given to an individual person and cannot be shared.

For those who wish to collaborate with a member of their team, who hold valid access credentials, GISAID offers the Team Work functionality. Team Work allows members of your team to share a common (team) email address which is added to your records to help each team member stay abreast of updates to an entry.
