The GISAID initiative was founded to provide data generators with an incentive to share their data data pre-publication. As an alternative to public-domain archives where access and use of data take place anonymously, GISAID pledges to offer certain protection of data providers’ interests; transparency on the use of their data; and mechanisms to ensure acknowledgement of laboratories providing viruses or contributing data shared via the GISAID platform.
As data submitters are at the heart of GISAID mission, providing a safe space, where they can collaborate with other community members is paramount.
Therefore GISAID will under no circumstances tolerate any hateful, abusive, harassing or coercive conduct on its platform.
